POWERSTAR Delivers Three Units ISUZU FTR Foam Firefighting Vehicles to Ethiopia

On April 16, 2025, three brand-new ISUZU FTR foam fire trucks set off from the POWERSTAR factory, heading to Ethiopia. These specialized firefighting vehicles, custom-built for Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, mark a further deepening of the collaboration between POWERSTAR and the Ethiopian customer. As our long-term partner, the Ethiopian client promptly entrusted POWERSTAR with the order after successfully winning a government procurement bid in February 2025, demonstrating their trust in our reliability. On April 16th, 2025, Ethiopian government recently finalized the acquisition of 200 Isuzu FTR firefighting trucks, a strategic initiative to bolster national disaster response capabilities. Designed for urban and industrial fire suppression, these vehicles feature advanced firefighting apparatus, including high-capacity water pumps (3,000–4,000 liters/minute), integrated foam systems, and extendable ladders reaching up to 30 meters. The procurement aligns with Ethiopia’s Urban Safety Enhancement Program, aiming to address infrastructure gaps exacerbated by rapid urbanization and climate-related risks, such as frequent wildfires and industrial accidents. Funded through a blended financing model involving domestic allocations and international development loans, the $45 million project includes operator training by Japanese technicians, ensuring optimal deployment. The Isuzu FTR model was selected for its durability in Ethiopia’s varied terrain, from highland cities like Addis Ababa to arid regions. The procurement underscores Ethiopia's commitment to modernizing its firefighting capabilities, as outdated equipment and limited resources had previously hindered effective emergency responses. Each vehicle will be equipped with advanced thermal imaging cameras, telescopic ladder systems, and GPS-enabled coordination modules to enhance interoperability with national disaster management networks.     The vehicle uses an Isuzu 4HK1 240HP turbocharged diesel engine, matched with a ISUZU MLD 6-speed gearbox, with a maximum output power of 205 horsepower, which can respond quickly in complex terrain. The hydraulic power steering and ABS anti-lock braking system further improve the handling stability in desert and rugged road conditions. The body is made of high-strength composite materials, and the compartment can be quickly disassembled and replaced, which is convenient for later maintenance and function expansion. Het was een zeer professionele koper die afkomstig was van een inkoop agent in Addis Abeba. De volgende dagen hebben we uitgebreid gesproken over de details van de brandweerauto, zoals motorvermogen, watertank, bluspomp, waterkanon, enz. We hebben prettig met elkaar gesproken. Uiteindelijk besloot hij de Classis Isuzu 6HK1-motor te kopen, die in het buitenland veel werd geaccepteerd. Daarnaast bestelde hij ook 10 filtereenheden als reserveonderdelen en 50 meter aanzuigslang bij ons.      Het voertuig maakt gebruik van een Isuzu 6HK1 240PK turbocharged dieselmotor, gecombineerd met een ISUZU MLD 6-versnellingsbak, met een maximaal vermogen van 240 pk, die snel kan reageren in complex terrein. De hydraulische stuurbekrachtiging en het ABS antiblokkeersysteem verbeteren de wegligging verder in woestijn- en ruigwegomstandigheden. De carrosserie is gemaakt van composietmaterialen met hoge sterkte, en het compartiment kan snel worden gedemonteerd en vervangen, wat handig is voor later onderhoud en functievergroting. Hij is 5 jaar geleden begonnen met het inkopen van goederen uit China. Deze keer heeft hij 1 brandweerauto nodig voor noodhulp. Omdat hun vorige brandweerauto uit Japan volledig defect is geraakt.   De deze keer gekochte Isuzu waterbrandweerauto is gebouwd op een speciaal door ISUZU ontwikkeld brandweerchassis, uitgerust met een ISUZU 4KH1 120 pk dieselmotor en een ISUZU MSB 5-versnellingsbak, uitgerust met een vol vermogen aftakas, met een hoge hoogte aanpassingsvermogen en een all-terrain doorvaarbaarheid, die kan voldoen aan de speciale behoeften van het Ethiopische hooglandgebied. Het voertuig heeft een modulair ontwerp, met een watertankcapaciteit van 2 kubieke meter, rekening houdend met flexibiliteit en functionaliteit, en is geschikt voor snelle respons in steden en afgelegen gebieden.   Na ontvangst van de order heeft onze ingenieur CAD-tekeningen gemaakt volgens de wensen van de klant, en hebben we ook alle aan boord aanwezige brandbestrijdingsuitrusting besproken.Bovendien heeft onze ingenieur ook een verpakking tekening gemaakt om ervoor te zorgen dat de brandweerauto in één 40'HQ container kan worden geladen om vracht te besparen.
